Engineered to Outperform

Over the past 60 years, Subaru has forged a reputation for designing, engineering and building vehicles that inspire an unmatched level of driving confidence.

In that time, we have experienced significant breakthroughs, including the legendary SUBARU BOXER engine. The equally famous Subaru symmetrical full-time AWD system. The recently introduced RWD system on the exhilarating BRZ sports coupe. The robust DC3 (Dynamic Chassis Control) system. And a rally-honed, fully independent suspension system.

These advances work in conjunction to deliver a completely unique driving experience that encompasses superior response, nimble handling and complete peace of mind — plus a whole lot of fun behind the wheel.

Better Handling

subaru_better_handlingThe low centre of gravity improves stability in the corners, contributing to a more comfortable ride, crisper handling and great accident avoidance capabilities.

Better Acceleration

subaru_better_accelerationThis engine type is compact, lightweight and symmetrically positioned low in the chassis to create smoother and more direct power delivery.

Better Performance Efficiency

subaru_better_performanceThe pistons move side-to-side, an inherently better-balanced design, so they create less vibration, generate better performance, and ensure reduced wear and tear on moving parts.

Better Crashworthiness

subaru_better_worthinessThe horizontally opposed engine is relatively compact and has a low profile compared to similar displacement engines, so it’s able to slide underneath the cabin in a severe frontal collision.

Safety + Security = Confidence in motion

Subaru has forged a reputation for building vehicles that offer superior levels of protection through the use of the most technologically advanced active and passive safety systems available. The end result: vehicles that inspire confidence on every type of road, under all possible conditions and at all times. No surprise, then, that the Subaru lineup continues to earn excellent safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

Active Safety

The combination of a world-class drive system, striking agility, superior visibility and class-leading active safety systems such as Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), Subaru Rear/Side Vehicle Detection (SRVD) and EyeSight® gives Subaru vehicles excellent evasive capabilities. These technologies represent the critical first line of defence and the best way to avoid a potential accident in the first place.

Passive Safety

In the event that an accident is unavoidable, every Subaru boasts a wide range of passive safety systems that are designed to deliver class-leading levels of protection. Each vehicle features exceptionally rigid construction and incorporates the latest technologies, like a full suite of airbags, ring-shaped reinforcement safety cell and collapsible pedals. Together, these advances minimize collision damage and, in turn, generate much greater peace of mind.

Awards and Accolades

There are many different reasons to choose a vehicle, but the Subaru difference just might be the most compelling reason of all. Our commitment to designing and engineering high-quality, safe, fun-to-drive vehicles is second to none. Our approach is designed to give the Subaru driver an unsurpassed level of confidence behind the wheel.

This dedication has also helped us to consistently rank as one of the industry’s top manufacturers. But there’s no need to take our word for it; just read on and learn about all the awards and accolades Subaru has received in the recent past.
